Matilija Canyon Outreach
Ventura County Watershed Protection District (WPD) staff attended the annual Matilija Canyon Property Owners Association meeting on Saturday morning, November 8, 2025. Staff spoke to residents one-on-one, collected contact information for future outreach, and made a presentation to the group about MDERP. The main focus of the presentation was the need to obtain groundwater data upstream of the dam and WPD’s past, present and planned actions to obtain such data to inform the assessment of potential impacts to water well supply post-dam removal. Residents were encouraged to communicate with the WPD if they were interested in having their well monitored.
