The District with the help of consultant WSC has embarked on a Risk Management Planning process for the Matilija Dam Ecosystem Restoration Project (MDERP) beginning with risk identification. The survey component of risk identification began mid-January 2026 and will continue through spring. Selected individuals involved in the planning and engineering aspects of MDERP along with other stakeholders identified as subject matter experts are requested to complete surveys and participate in related meetings to help identify the risks associated with all phases of MDERP. Once risks are identified a qualitative/quantitative analysis will be conducted to assess the comparative magnitude of the identified risks and prioritize them for response. Appropriate response strategies/measures will then be developed. Risks, responses, risk monitoring and communication plans will be documented in a Risk Management Plan document which will be implemented as part of project execution.
